Eva history:
Never had a song been expected so badly ! At the end of October, Nightwish announced its painful split with Tarja, who had been the band’s singer since the beginning. Then came months of trouble, arguments, lies and crazy news in unscrupulous magazines and media. In the end, a few months later, once the storm was over, Nightwish announced on their official website that they were looking for a new singer, and that anyone who felt able to replace Tarja could send them a demo. Everybody knows what happened next and Anette was eventually chosen.  Yet, while her name was supposed to be revealed on May 30th 2007 only, the same day as Eva’s online release, the song appeared too soon on some paid download sites (legal ones!). There were a lot of discussion within the band, rumors had been too numerous to be stopped so Nightwish decided to announce everything one week earlier.
An extract from Eva was made available the day before the announcement of the singer’s name and speculations were overall. At last, on May 24th 2007, the secret the best kept in the world was revealed:  Anette Olzon is the band’s new singer.
