Details...

Bless The ChildBless The Child was the most personal song for Tuomas in 2004. The band’s surroundings were not very easy – Sami left and tensions began to show up. It’s worth noticing that the male voice in this song is the one from the previous album’s Dead Boy’s Poem.

Bless The Child history:
After Ever Dream, it was time for Bless The Child to know a career as a single. Why did they choose this song? In an interview from the second issue of the fan-club fanzine, Tuomas simply explained that it was his favorite song from the album and the one that represented the album the best.  A video was shot to promote the single. Unfortunately, it is an edited version as far as the music is concerned – a big part of the song is taken off (the introduction, for instance). Moreover, this single knew a bigger career outside of Finland than any other before. Indeed, the license for Bless the Child was given to all the European record companies, allowing them to release their own versions. That is why Bless The Child can easily be found in many European countries. Thanks to (or because of) that, the single was released in many versions – each country giving its particularity to its version. This is heaven for collectors!

Where have all the feelings gone?
Why is the deadliest sin - to love as I loved you?
Now unblessed, homesick in time,
soon to be freed from care, from human pain.
My tale is the most bitter truth:
Time pays us but with earth & dust, and a dark, silent grave.
Remember, my child: Without innocence the cross is only iron,
hope is only an illusion & Ocean Soul's nothing but a name...

The Child bless thee & keep thee forever...
