ABOUT THE SONGS : NEW!
At the end of March 2009, in an interview, Tuomas told us that he had composed a 3min30 instrumental interlude for the next album.
Song #1 : has one of the best choruses the band have ever had and a classic Nightwishy c-part of heavy guitars, a massive string riff and everything louder than anything and everybody playing with full force at the same time.
Trademark stuff.
Song #2 : a twisted marriage of Van Halen, Pantera and madhouse vocals. And Quentin Tarantino - guitars in the bridge.
Song #3 : an acoustic song, like a journey back to the roots.
Song #4 : also a back to the roots. Like a funeral march between Paradise Lost and My Dying Bride.
Song #5 : has been composed by Marco. A wonderfully catchy track with the chorus repeated 5 times !
Song #6 : The "Nukkumatti" (Sandman) song - a pounding, twisted and chorusless ghost train ride is sure to bring a smile to your face. Danny Elfman goes humppa.
Song #7 : more or less tailor-made for Troy. Loads of pipes to battle / to jam with Emppu and a raving c-part which was born after 10 pints of ale and loads of Old Toby. One of the cheerier tunes of the album, and a nice little cloudbuster.
Song #8 : takes the band to whole new territories. Something completely different from anything they have ever done. A terrificly challenging and mind-expanding song.
Song #9 : explores Zimmer-territories shamelessly with the chorus taking us back to our roots. Emppu`s favorite part of the whole album. A short, simple - structured song.
Song #10 : will be the last one on the album, an insanely ambitious piece and will be close to 20 minutes long. Uncle Walt (Disney)`s spirit is haunting in every note of this song.
Song #11 : an acoustic piece in the vein of "The Islander". Ennio Morricone meets Christy Moore. With Troy`s pipes & bodhran.
