Highest Hopes is Nightwish’s first best-of released by Spinefarm Records. Two other best-of had been released before: Tales From The Elvenpath from Drakkar Records and Best Wishes from Toys Factory. This new best-of goes back over the band’s whole career, from the first album Angels Fall First to Once. It also offers two unreleased tracks: a new version of Sleeping Sun and a live performance of a Pink Floyd song, High Hopes, sang by Marco during Tarja’s break on the concerts of the 2005 tour.

Highest Hopes is the band’s most official and nice best-of. It has a very good choice of tracks, a superb cover, a wonderful booklet with all the lyrics and a very beautiful general design – this best-of really is a beautiful object. It is also the only one that has been released in various forms, for example in a 2 CD/ 1 DVD version that can be found in a beautiful DVD digipack.
